Reduce Stress & Maximize Happiness During
Challenging Times
That’s a wrap on the 7 Habits to Maximize Your Happiness During Challenging Times!
Thanks for sending in all your fabulous ideas on how to creatively find more joy in your daily routines.
As promised, here are a few of my favorite habits people shared with me over the past couple of weeks. These put the “little habits, big difference” happiness challenge into practical perspective. When you plan ahead and intentionally work on any aspect of your well-being, you’ll start to see shifts in your happiness. Intention is the key.

“Check in each day from today on my 80 year old friend who lives on his own. He is normally out and about a lot visiting people and has several medical conditions. So even a text each morning might be a nice way to stay in touch with him and let him know he is not alone.”
“Created a ‘to phone’ list, with the names of all my college contacts who moved away, and scheduled it in my calendar for this weekend! Already feeling better just anticipating the calls.”
“To go out with my face mask and make the transition from my old cellphone to my new one, and today I'm going to fix an exact time for it: Sunday afternoon!”
“Tonight I’m going to bake with my son. He loves getting messy and I love baking. The great memories it brings back to me, baking with my own mom, her laugh, the smells around the house etc...Good stuff.”
“This habit of ‘growth mindset’ was one of the hardest for me to figure out how to practice. The frame of mind was appealing but the practice of it was challenging, but at the end of the day I got it. I chose to focus on my potential growth by learning a new marketing skill. I’m happy to report that I’ve enrolled in a free online class :)."
Thanks again to all who participated! It was great reading your new habits!
So what's next?
Many of you have written to me asking for more insight on ways to recover, heal, and move past the difficult changes we’ve endured over the past few months. In one way or another you asked me: “How will I craft my life moving forward?”
Embedded in your questions was a desire to explore the science of change, goals, and habits - as well as the expression of the hurdles to building such habits. I hear you, sustaining behavioral change is not easy, but trust me when I say that it’s certainly doable!
With that said, I will be putting together some golden nuggets of information on the topic of behavioral change, and sharing them with you all in my upcoming newsletters.
In the meanwhile, please let me know if you have any questions I can answer or if there’s any particular pillar of well-being you’d like to learn more about. Happiness encompasses so much: from our fundamentals like eating, sleeping, and moving habits, to our relationships, our vocation, and the way we live our values and pursue our purpose. We have only skimmed the surface...
Please feel free to contact me. Together, we can move the needle in any aspect of your life you wish to optimize. Just hit reply to this email (or email drtal@happierbeing.com) and let me know what’s on your mind!
Keep finding your ways to develop your Happiness Habits!
Sincerely,
Dr. Tal Leead, Psy.D.
