So what’s the occasion, you might ask?
The short answer is: July 4th, America’s Independence Day! Let me explain...
I realize that the 4th of July is about commemorating the US Declaration of Independence. And although there’s a lot to be thankful for during this federal holiday, (including having the day off work if you live in the US!), it got me thinking about the importance of personal independence and freedom.
Over the years, and throughout my practice, I’ve found that these two concepts (independence and freedom) are often linked to my clients’ therapeutic results. And results is what we're looking for 👋:
Take for example independence. For some, this can mean physically and financially getting by on your own. But for others it can also have a more intrinsic meaning, like becoming mentally strong, resilient, and gaining insights into your own life. So at its core, independence is about initiating and experiencing personal growth.
The concept of freedom works in a similar fashion. For some, it can mean physically immigrating to another country or leaving an abusive relationship. While for others it can mean freeing oneself of distorted thinking patterns, obsessive thoughts, perfectionist behavior, etc. So at its core, freedom is about learning to experience less pain, and more joy.
And this is why we all need to strive to develop more independence and freedom in our lives everyday! It starts by figuring out what these two concepts mean to you - what they look like in your personal life - and then gaining the tools and habits to improve your quality of life and overall well-being.
So, this is why I’m offering you a FREE, 15-minute consultative session! I can help you gain those tools needed to build your happiness habits.
